Minimum Play Time
- No player will sit out consecutive innings
- No player will sit a second inning, until all players have sat one inning. Exception is the starting pitcher. Once removed from pitching position, she must sit the next complete inning, if all players have sat one inning. If pitcher (who has not sat an inning) is removed during the last inning, she must sit remainder of the inning.
- Player MUST start the next game after sitting the start of the previous game
- Pitching
- Follow Orange Book Regulation VI: A player may pitch in a maximum of twelve (12) innings in a game. If a player pitches in seven (7) or more innings in a day, one calendar day of rest is mandatory. Delivery of a single pitch constitutes having pitched in an inning.
- When your team is on offense
- Bat the roster, all in attendance 1-13, 1-12, etc.
- All players batting in the #10-13 positions must bat in the #1-9 positions in the following gameWhen the 7th run in an inning scores, the offensive team’s half inning ends
Penalty for not following Minimum Play / Pitching / Batting rules:
- First Offense: Verbal warning and appear before executive board
- Second Offense: Suspension for next played game
- Third Offense: Expulsion from the league
Game Time
- No new inning starts after 1 hour and 35 minutes.
- Complete the inning if started prior to 1 hour and 35 minutes.
- Time limits may only be applied after the game is official (3 ½ innings if home team is leading).
- No new inning starts after 10:00 pm
- Teams must start with nine (9) players, either from your roster or league approved pool players.
Pool Players
- Pool player must be currently on a TLL Majors Softball Roster.
- Administered ONLY by League Director/Player Agent from a pre-established pool.
- Pool player does not pitch or catch and must bat in lower third of line-up, but not last.
- Pool players follow the same minimum playing time as roster players.
- Pool player does not play at the expense of a roster player. If roster player shows up late, pool player can leave after he has one at bat and six defensive outs.
Substitute Manager/Roster Coaches
Only the Manager and two (2) Roster Coaches are allowed on the field or in the dugout during games. In the event a team is missing a Manager or Roster Coach(es) for a game, a Manager or Roster Coach of another Tuckahoe team may be used as a substitute coach(es). Members of the TLL Board may also serve as substitute coaches. Coaches cannot be borrowed from the opposing team. Substitute coaches must be reported to the VP of Softball in advance of the game.
